S.H.N.S Vs. Incredibles: Gordon Whittemore: 16 Pts, 11 Reb, 3 Ast- Silas Zechman: 34 Pts, 9 Reb, 2 Ast
The ZBA season would be ended tonight. Throughout all the exciting games and overtime thrillers, the championship would be played between the two Zechman brothers. Loro Lako, the ZBA's second leading scorer was out with an illness, evening out the playing field against the seemingly never tiring S.H.N.S who were playing their third game in a row. The game began with an emphatic block by Max Baker on an Xavier Mills lay up. Jake Angell would score first for the Incredibles in response to a 4-0 run by the S.H.N.S. Max Baker had been fueling his team all night with lights out shooting, and it was more of the same in the championship. a 16-8 lead for the S.H.N.S was the score as Max shot two free throws to end the quarter. In the second quarter Gordon and Finn made their mark on the game as Max sat out. A three by Gordon and two beautiful drives by Finn increased the lead to 21-12 with 3:41 left. This was interrupted by a bucket from Jake Angell to keep it under ten. Gordon would be injured this quarter but entered the game again in the third. Three point shooting was the name of the game for the S.H.N.S who hit three in the quarter, two from Gordon. The Incredibles began to get back on track though and the score was 27-20 at the end of the half. An aggressive start to the third reduces the deficit to 2 with 2 minutes left. The Incredibles would go to the line 4 times in the third, three by Silas and one by Xavier. Xavier would control the boards which helped the Incredibles limit second chance opportunities. The fourth started and the game was still anybody's ball game. But with three minutes left, the game was looking bleak for the Incredibles as down by 8 the S.H.N.S showed no signs of slowing. Pressure in the back court would allow Silas to make a leaping grab on a inbound pass from S.H.N.S and draw the foul. 1 and 1's were the remainder of the game as Max hit two FT's to make the score 42-34. Silas would respond with a hook shot and then coast to coast lay up. Two consecutive buckets from Silas and Xavier off passes from Jake reduced the lead to six. Silas would miss three 3's before finally connecting with less than a second left. Down by two the Incredibles could not foul in time and conceded the Championship to the elated S.H.N.S who celebrated with their ring pops and championship rings. Final Score: 47-45 S.H.N.S Missing*- S.H.N.S- Josh Sardinha Inc. Loro Lako
